When we receive a notification that a new message has arrived, it would be more useful to see the display name (i.e., the nickname we gave the contact) instead of the username. With multiple contacts, it's difficult to distinguish between SDFJYHK@ODIN and SHDDFHD@ODIN. Alternatively, give the user a choice as to what should be displayed in the notification (Display name vs username).

After using the messenger a bit, I've noticed a lot of lag. It can be pretty bad at times, to the point where you have to wait 5 seconds for the text you just typed to appear. This is on a fairly decent phone (oneplus 5). Not sure what the issue is, but definitively important for a version 1.0 of the app.

It may be beneficial to be able to export/import private keys in order to synchronize an anonymous identity between a phone app and a desktop app?

A nice feature would be the ability to enable a "killswitch" within the application to purge all contacts, messages, and information after a certain action is triggered.
